Hello KG and aghadowey

1911 Census confirming No. 47 was a Lodging House.

I have checked the 1918 website, James not at No. 47.  Reason for checking 1918 Edith his wife died in 1918 (3 years after marriage), James not present at death. His occupation listed as Boilermaker (Journeyman).  I will check the other addresses near the Docks to see if he changed Lodging House.

Thank you for introducing me to the Census Websites, they are so very interesting, the different occupations are fascinating in 1918, well worth reading.

The directories don't list all the occupants just head of household. If James was boarder then he wouldn't show under the address in directories. Also remember that most directories were compiled the previous year or at least early in the stated year.
