Between 1814 and 1818 there are 11 David Law’s birth records on Scotland’s People.

If he was married earlier there were 32 weddings between 1835 and 1855.

It looks like you need the 1868 marriage record on SP to be sure.

By the way I do not think they had any children.

David Law who died 1 Nov 1879 in Beckenham  left a will - Probate Calendar has this;

" Administration (with will) of the personal estate of David Law of Fife House Beckenham ... was granted at the Principal Registry to James Drysdale of 65 King Street Stirling in North Britain and Alexander Monteath Alloa Clackmannan in North Britain Agents of the Clydesdale Banking Company the Residuary Leagatees in Trust substituted".

In 1880 there is this

17 Nov. Administration of the Personal Estate of David La of Fife House ... was granted at the Principal Registry under certain Specialties to Andrew Bell Philp of Beckenham Warehouseman.

This grant ceased and expired as Administration (with will) granted t the Principal Registry Feb 1881."

Presumably a will must have been found after the initial admin.granted. Given the recent price reduction in the cost of copies of old wills it might be worth obtaining - £1.50 well spent?

Also worth saying that Scottish marriage certs. should give the detail of both his parents names including mmn.

His obituary is in the Alloa Advertiser 15 Nov 1879.Here are some of the details from it.

He was born in Dunfermline ,the native town of his father and grandfather, in 1814 and went to London at an early age. Apparently " As recently as Saturday the 18th ultimo,he stood at his father's grave in the Abbey Churchyard,and on Monday the 27th, he assisted in lowering totheir last resting place the remains of his aged father in law,Mr Robert Philp, of Alloa, also a native of Dunfermline."

He returned to Beckenham the following Thursday in weak health and died on the Saturday.His remains were accompanied to Dunfermline by three brothers of the deceased. The funeral was on the 5th Nov.
