I don't know what's worse ... waiting for dna results or waiting for wills.

I'm still waiting for wills estimated 9th and 11th August ...I realise they have been inundated with orders and taking away weekends the time from the 9th til today is really only 6 working days but it seems like forever!

Is anyone still waiting for their order who's estimated date is before mine?

I ordered a will on the 7th August and it was delivered literally a few minutes ago.

I'm still waiting for the 4 wills that I ordered on 24 July, due 8th August. I did however have a reply to my email today which confirmed that they are experiencing a very high demand for wills, and apologising for the delay and frustration caused.

I think its a case of the usual (from  govt sponsored site) case of they utterly underestimated the interest that would be generated.
A bit like when they released the intitial site for the 1911 census - which promptly fell over as the hits overwhelmed the server.

It will calm down, the wills will all be delivered and in a month or so's time it will be fine and delivery will be within the expected time frame.

Until then its grit your teeth and bear it :)

Durhamgirl,

I am waiting for 5 due on the 8th. I'm just hoping that when they do arrive they will clear up a few mysteries. It will be so disappointing if they don't throw up something new after the wait.

The last of three wills originally ordered on 24th July and having an estimated delivery date of 8th August was e-mailed last night, 19th August.

Well mine were ordered 24th July and still nothing.I did get replies to my enquiries eventually and they said there was an unprecedented demand for the wills and apologised. I am not in a huge hurry for them, but when everyone else seems to be getting them on  here it is a bit frustrating I suppose.

Perhaps we have ourselves to blame for the delays  :-\  With the drop in price many more of us decided to "go ahead".  I know that I have ordered more than I would have had the price remained at £10.00.  :)

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

That is why I have refrained from ordering any yet, as per my post on page two, it was obvious there would be a mad rush resulting in delays.
