Help where is this place in ireland anyone know?

This is where my great grandmother was born but I cant make it out looks like Postown? Portown? cant find a listing on google for either of those  can anyone explain or hazard a guess? thanks all

There was a soldier named John Ryan born circa 1832 who said he was born in the parish of Posttown near Clonmel, Tipparary. I think it is a corruption of Powerstown.

Do you know her maiden name or her husband's name?

If so try https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp  which is free.

If R.C they start 1864

as per https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/civil-records/help/what-civil-records-are-on-line

Just put the name in, year range and tick Marriages leave District empty.

you have to solve captcha security and enter your name, then you get list of Marriages for that name within time frame.


or for Births tick Births and Year Range  adapt search terms.

thanks have tried there for a marriage to no avail on both parish and civil records Im beginning to think maybe they weren't married they were Patrick O'Brien and Mary Mulligan the only Patrick and Mary I can find on the 1901 is the one from Postown but unless I can find a marriage record Im lost again thanks for the help though
