Langmaid
« on: Friday 09 August 19 10:54 BST (UK) »
Hello

I was wondering if anyone can help me find a family tree of Langmaid's that lived in Cornwall.

My nan (whom is alive and well) is a from that line. Her grandmother was Florence Love Langmaid (later became Lawrence) and her father was Thomas Stap Langmaid, his father Reginald and his was John Langmaid who went to the Old Bailey for smuggling.

I do have have some information but we don't know anything about the Lawrence's or Cora Elizabeth (Florence's daughter, my great grandmother) as she apparently married another man first with the surname Russell.

I'm planning to visit Polperro, Cornwall soon and would like anymore information.

Thank you

Felicity

Hello and welcome to RootsChat

Could you explain who was from Cornwall - if I am following the correct family Florence Love Langmaid was born in Milford Pembrokeshire Wales birth reg Jun qtr 1859 Haverfordwest Pembs 11a 754 and her father Thomas S was a coastguard and was born Saltburn Yorks -her mother Elizabeth L was born Plymouth Devon.
Florence Love Laingmaid married Henry Laurence  marriage reg FreeBMD Jun qtr 1884 Hastings Sussex 2b 78
Purchase of this marriage cert would give Henry's father and occupation (unless of course he was illegt
according to census Henry was a Master Mariner and was born c 1858 Portrush Antrim Ireland
Henry and Florence had 4 children Henry b Hastings Sussex Thomas Frederick b Hastings Cora Elizabeth b Forest Gate and Albert Edward b Leytonstone Essex

I will try to find further information on Cora Elizabeth

Yes, sorry

I should of explained more, I've never really used a forum like this to research or ask for help but the information you have there is correct.
Cora Elizabeth is my great grandmother, we have her marriage cert to johnathan William Smith as she's listed as "Russell" and "Widow" - I've been trying on family history sites to find any cert between her and Russell surname but nothing yet.

What is a little confusing Cora Elizabeth's daughter with Jonathan William Smith gives mother's maiden name as Russell?

Who were witnesses at Cora's marriage to Jonathan W Smith?
