No need to apologize! I wonder if ordering her birth certificate would tell me anything. Even the address might be helpful. I'm interested in Frances's connection to Annie Prickett and why she would give her daughter to her future sister-in-law.

I'm also wondering what that quote by Paul O'Keeffe in regards to Henry Benson Stuart really meant. Somewhere Wyndham Lewis must have mentioned HBS, probably satirizing him but I'd love to figure out the context.

Dunn/Taylor (Worcestershire)
Pearson (Worcestershire)

Wondering if Henry was stationed at Chelsea Barracks around 1859.

He could have been. I'm not sure how to find out or if it's even possible. When he married in 1859 the address he gives is St. James Square.

Quite often illegitimate children were given the fathers surname as a second name.

That's what I thought so I'm thinking her father was a Stuart. I can't say for sure he was my Henry Benson Stuart but I'd love to know more about this Wyndham Lewis and if he used HBS as a caricature for his novels.

Birth (the year before) from Freebmd/GRO

Annie Stuart Dangerfield - mmn Dangerfield - Chelsea 1a 175 - Dec 1859 Qtr

Yes, good find! Can't believe I didn't look for this yesterday, wasn't expecting Frances to be Annie's mother.  :)

Certainly does sound like Henry Benson STUART could be the father, but hard to know for certain.

Does anyone else think Wyndham Lewis looks a bit like Gomez Addams?  ;D
