Peter Stephan b c1796 Madeley

I Have found Peter Stephan in various Census going forward from 1841 giving his birth date as 1796 -1801, but I haven't found a birth record for him on FMPast.   Please can someone perhaps check another site.
My other query is how would I find out who his father was as there is no mention on the 1841 census.

Daughter Clara bn 1856 has mmn Bradley on the birth index.  Could this be his marriage to Susanna which should give details for his father

Doh! How embarrassing! Yes of course you are right - and his father's name of course was also Peter!!
So taking a guess looking at FindMyPast His father married Hannah Johnson on 18 Dec 1801 and he died 2Q 1845 Madeley.

Thanks for your help, any thoughts as to how I might get further info please?

I’m not sure if I have the right family but there is a Peter Stephan age 65 living in Broseley, Madeley in 1861 with his wife Susanna and children but he was born in Stoke, Staffordshire?

Yes that's the family and I have most of the Census info but the same old problem of going back pre 1841 .... for his parents etc.
He was apparently a skilled artist at the potteries.

There is a tree on family search which suggests his father Peter was born in Germany, married there first, then a second marriage to Hannah in Stoke on Trent.

The 1871 census states Peter junior was born  Stoke Up Wentbridge, Staffordshire, but I can find no reference to that place.

No childrens baptisms, until 1859 when John a Potter & Sarah hed children, maybe a brother of Peter.
