WW1 Hospital Records Look Up

HI was wondering if anybody has access to WW1 Hospital Records.
I have been trying to find out about my Grandfather in WW1 for quite a time now but I always draw a blank.I think his service records must have been destroyed. I have a photo of him in hospital blues but I don,t know where it was taken I thought hospital records might be the way to go but I am not sure how much information they will give as I can't access them without paying and I don't want to pay if they won't get me anywhere.
 His Name was Harry Taylor he was born in Radcliffe Lancashire 27th April 1883, he would have been living in Whaley Bridge or Fernilee Derbyshire when he signed up. He did not marry his wife Edna until 1918 so I guess his next of kin would have been his parents George and Alice. Keeping my fingers crossed for help or advice.

Those that were preserved, (and they were a very small sample indeed)  can be accessed on Findmypast. Harry Taylor is a common name, do you have a service number
 or regiment or time frame??

No sorry no service number regiment or time frame I have been really struggling with this as you say Harry Taylor is such a common name. He did survive the the war but all I have is the photograph of him in hospital blues.

Do you have his marriage cert ?
If he was still in the Army it may give reference to a Regt.
Is he wearing his service cap in the photo ?
Have you tried looking for the 1918 Absent Voter's list ?
Local newspapers often reported on wounded men which is
another source.

I don’t have a wedding cert. never thought to look on that I will send for one and check it. He does have his cap on in the photo I did put a picture on the roots chat forum a while back but the photo is small you can’t make out which regiment the cap badge is and if you blow the photo up you just lose any detail, I had a few suggestions but no one could be sure. I have tried local newspapers in the past without any luck. I will check out the missing voters list as you say. Thanks for your help.
