Picture of great grandpa and his parents. Can anyone give it a date?

I would like to have this photo dated if possible. It was taken in New York.
The little boy is my great-grandpa Robert Verhoogen (B.1916)) his father Frank and his mother Irma
as well as his beloved childhood dog "Chico" (named for one of the Marx brothers I think, not sure though) Any possible clues to the date will be appreciated.

Based on the birth date given and the size of the boy 1923-1925 ie 7 years old to 9
