Looking for any information regarding a John Davies who married a Mary Jones both from Llansawel. They had two children a son called (I believe) John and a daughter Mary Ann who was also known as Lorraine. There was an aunt called Rachael or Rachel. Mary was born in 1928 she was friends with a girl who lived near the Shiloh Chapel possible called Williams from the farm across from the chapel.

'Mary was born in 1928'
Do you mean Mary Jones or Mary Ann Davies?
Have you identified the marriage for John Davies to Mary Jones?
Do you know if John Davies or Mary Jones/Davies are still alive, as, unfortunately, rootschat is not for finding living people?

One place to look would be the 1939 Register, although it is (to my knowledge) only found through paid sites such as Ancestry. If you can identify your ancestors (and common names can make that hard of course) the information available includes their date of birth and may include subsequent amendments such as new surnames for women who later married. Some entries are blacked out for privacy reasons though, if the person might reasonably be assumed to still be alive.

Thank you all for the replies. It was Mary Ann Davies who was friends with the girl from the farm and was born in 1928, John and Mary were married, Mary was a Jones...not common in Wales 😁 went where today to look for graves but could not find them . Starting the search ...will look that the school link. All are now dead. Lesson to everyone before it get too late talk and that notes while still young with older family members.

Free search of 1939 for Mary A L Davies gives her living at Twrdu, Llandeilo district, born in 1928, probably parents John and Mary, and one other person. John born 1891.
