For new subscribers only FindMyPast's 'Pro' package includes newspapers.
https://www.findmypast.co.uk/starter-plus-pro-package

Some existing members still have their cheaper old packages which include newspapers but are no longer available to new subscribers  ;D

Nooo! I didn't know they were taking newspapers out.  Looks like I will be an ex-customer once my sub runs out.

They did this quite some time back. But I think, as Rosie said, if you keep your current subscription it'll just roll over and there's no need to 'upgrade' to their new subscription model to keep access to the newspapers. I could be wrong though.

I was trying to work out how long ago they changed them so thank you.  ;D

I have kept my 'Britain' sub for F M P which still includes newspapers and I paid around £100 last annual renewal so good value for what I need as I don't need Ireland or abroad

There are I believe some Irish Newspapers on British Newspapers Archive, there is also a Irish Newspapers Archive. They used to do a 24 hour sub but I can't see it now, a month seems to be the shortest now.

I hope that's right about auto-renewal.  I definitely don't want to be auto-renewed onto an inferior package.

Added: must be right (thanks) as the WDYTYA article is from Nov 2017 and we have all renewed since then.  Phew :D

FindMyPast used to be a little behind BNA in getting updates, but this may no longer be the case. Of course, with FindMyPast you get all the otehr stuff as well.

Before subscribing, check that it has issues for the part of the country you're interested in. London papers, for example, have been conspicuous by their absence for a long whlle and are only slowly appearing now.

Also look at some of the overseas free collections, like the Australian Trove and New York Times tom name but two as overseas newspapers reprinted many articles from UK ones for the benefit of ex-pats or just to avoid printing blank columns.
Researching Penge, Anerley, (including the Crystal Palace) and neighbouring parts of Beckenham, currently in London (Bromley), formerly Surrey and/or Kent.

They do. I subscribed 2 days ago and found Irish papers ie Clare and Ennis and Tipperary Times etc

I also subscribed for a month

Maybe its me but I am still learning the interface and the way its presented. Or alternatively I have been spoiled by Trove the Australian resource

Looking for emigrant names and shipping lists ie Trove has a lot of info and I am yet to work out the best method of finding names in the English/Scottish/Irish papers( if they are listed)
