James Samuel Wagstaffe Duke
« on: Sunday 28 July 19 13:06 BST (UK) »
Ok, this is a very long shot but I figure it's worth a try!

I'm looking for any relatives of James Samuel Wagstaffe Duke, who was born (I think) about 1919 and died circa 1988 in Blackburn.
He married Hilda Needham, and they lived for a time around Glasson Dock.

I found his great Grandaughter Jessica via Ancestry a couple of years back, but we lost touch before we could get in proper contact..

If you're a relative of his, please give me a message  :)

I know this isn't what you are asking but this appears to be his birth

Births Sep 1919
Duke    James S W    Wagstaffe    Blackburn    8e   442

Have you checked trees on Ancestry to see if you can contact his great granddaughter through that?

There seems to be at least three trees featuring his name on Ancestry.  I can't access them as I don't have a sub any more.

I see he is on the 1939 with what appear to be his mother and maternal grandmother.  Still single so presumably married after 1939.

Surname has been written as Dukes.

Seems the misspelling of his surname carried on to his death.  Registered in 1989 in Blackpool & Fylde dob given as 28 June 1919.

Did the same thing with his marriage then!  Dukes instead of Duke.

This is (I think) the right man. I know very little about him other than family legends and what I've guessed..
Of the ancestry members with him on, I've tried 3; one appears to be his wife who is no longer with us, one wont reply to messages, and the third is the missing Jessica who hasn't been on Ancestry for well over a year  :-\

Do you know Jessica's full name?  Any idea where she may be living now?  If so you could try an electoral roll check for her.  Or maybe Facebook?
