Albany NY Directories 1961 to 1981

Would anyone know if any Albany City Directories or Albany Post Office Directories - post 1961 are available online ?

I looked in a few places and didn't see any.

In case your question was more general: There might be other ways of finding people after 1961. They might be mentioned in a newspaper article or obituary. Or after about 1985 they might show up in US Public Records at familysearch or ancestry.com. If living or recently deceased, they might be in the whitepages or people finder sites like veromi.com, spokeo.com, or others that show up if you Google the name and location.

Hello and Thank you for the reply.  The person that I am looking for may very well have passed away.  He was born c1920.  I have checked my ancestry site and family search as well as any newspaper that I can access.  I do have him in a directory and a newspaper article confirming he lived on Lancaster street in 1961.  Confirming death has not be certain.  The was another gentleman living in Albany during same time as well with the same name and near same age.   Thus hoping for a directory....

Have you tried the NY state death index that goes up to 1969?  https://health.data.ny.gov/Health/Genealogical-Research-Death-Index-Beginning-1957/vafa-pf2s/data  If there's a possible death there, maybe you can rule him in or out as your guy by looking for an obituary.

It looks like the Albany public library has directories from the time frame you're looking for in the library, so maybe you could ask them for a look-up or see if you can find a researcher in that area.
