Ancestry DNA 24hr Flash Sale - but is it only by personal invitation?

Smudwhisk, I've had this email too, at about 8am UK time (4.30pm ACST).  I'm in Australia but have an Ancestry UK-only sub.

The 'special' price is £59 + shipping.  Even if I wanted to do it (and even if they said how much shipping costs!), the order form only accepts billing and/or shipping addresses in UK, Guernsey, Ireland, Isle of Man, or Jersey.

Didn't want to do it anyway, but neither you nor I can because we're 'foreign'

They seem to be having sales every few weeks now, almost as bad as DFS . I wonder how many people ever pay full price  .

No email at all for me - maybe as I am on the lowest membership you can have ( I think) UK Essential - so not worthy of the offer ?? - well that would be guessing, but. 

Another side effect of this membership level is that the vast majority of 'hints' offered, when it comes right down to it, I'm not eligible for!!  They may feel it is likely to  tempt you to upgrade your membership, but, from my point of view, it is the very opposite, it is just annoying, I really only keep my contract bcause of the access availed under the DNA package!

These links in the emails seem to be shareable, so if you have friends who might want a cheap deal it might be worth telling a few people, until the next Amazon deal with free shipping comes around .

I've had worldwide membership for a number of years apart from last year and have purchased my own kit last Black Friday and am manager of my fathers.  But still didn't get the email with any offer.  As I said previously, ever since I activated my kit on the UK site all I get DNA related are offers from Australia which are obviously no use to me.  Annoying.

I paid £49 plus the P&P last Black Friday so will probably wait again until then.  Give me time to get round to asking my uncle.

If I still have one of the Australian DNA emails, or will wait until the next one arrives, I'm tempted to forward it to Ancestry UK and ask why it is they keep sending me these in light of having a UK sub taken out on the UK site and being UK based.  Doubt I'll get far with the customer support but who knows.
