Hello Bonnie

Just checking my various Twyford names but Walter Thomas isn't one of them.

Presumably the baptism 18th August 1886, Holy Trinity, Haverstock Hill, Camden William Thomas Twyford to parents William & Ruth, Horse Keeper of 289 High St, Camden Town isn't "your" William Thomas? Also bap at the same time another son, William.

In 1901 as plain Walter he is living with mother Ruth in Hampstead.

Further records show Walter Thomas Twyford was born 28/1/1884 and was indeed the man baptised 18/8/1886 (mentioned by Joyce C), son of William and Ruth.

6 years after his marriage to Annie he is living next door to his mother and claiming to be 'single'.

Electoral rolls show he lived with mother Ruth until 1925 - from 1926 he is living with an Alice, later described as his wife but no marriage).

Likewise, I can find no marriage between William Arney and Walter's wife Annie.

Clearly, neither could legally remarry so they each took up with someone else and lived with new partner as man and wife.

As an old aunt of mine used to say, after their marriage in 1905 'the wheel came off' and 6 years later Annie is living with another man (William Arney) as his wife and Walter is claiming to be single. From 1926 he is living with a 'wife' Alice.

Walter Thomas bc.1884, died Sept. 1967 Hampstead.  He appears to have stayed in Hampstead after his marriage there in 1905.

;D Wow...Thank you both so very much, I can't believe that's been solved. It was literally a mystery in my family...I'm lost for words.

Just one more family tree mystery to go, and I'll be sorted.

Thank you again, you really are stars x

Hi, well if they're all in the same area, there's a good chance they're related somewhere along the line.

Here's my 3 Walter Thomas Twyfords-
Jan 1940 - 9 July 2015
18 Sep 1906 - Oct 1958
28 Jan 1884 - Sep 1967

Emmie

The Walter Twyford you mention as bn 13th Apr 1874 appears on my tree as a 3rd cousin, twice removed.
