One tree on family search has William Henry Stacey 1750 – 1809
And Susanna Kimbel 1743 – 1817, this is linked to their youngest daughter Sarah.

No records to support this.

Colin
Clarke, Trickett, Orton, Lawless, Norton, Detheridge, Kirby, Goodfellow, Wagstaff, Lowe, etc.

Hi Colin,

Thank you for  your help and for the information!

I’ve seen the baptism of Freereg too but was not sure if one of them is the man I’m looking for.

I’m not sure if the tree from Familysearch is correct, William would have been 17 at his marriage and the middle name Henry is new to me , but possible

I’m very interested to know where William and Susannah came from and to learn  more about their ancestors

I notice the following old parish record on Ancestry (My membership is off just now).
As the eldest child was George it might be worth a look. There are also Susanna Kimble in Oxfordshire on there.

William Stacy   event type   date   township, township, Surrey   George,Elizabeth

Colin
Clarke, Trickett, Orton, Lawless, Norton, Detheridge, Kirby, Goodfellow, Wagstaff, Lowe, etc.

Hey ,

I’m still looking for the baptisms of the above couple. Can someone help me ? There’s maybe one in Oxfordshire for Susanna Kimbell but I’m not sure because it’s not very close to Chertsey,Surrey where the couple lived  ???

I have had another look for the possible baptisms but it is still inconclusive, there are trees on Ancestry but even these vary, most of below I have already posted but there are a few extra bits of information. It is always possible that the records have not survived.

The marriage record on Ancestry is one of the worst transcriptions I have seen, it reads that William Henry married Susannah, even though his name is fairly clear but more importantly he signed very clearly William Stacey, Susannah made her mark.

William Stacey & Susannah – baptisms St Peter Chertsey, Surrey

George 3 Apr 1768 burial 1 Jul 1768
Hannah 18 Jun 1769
William 25 Sep 1771
Mary   20 Mar 1774
Sarah   14 Nov 1784

This is the only burial I can see in the County?
William STACEY   Burial, age 83 (1746)   18 Mar 1829   Surrey   Camberwell : St Giles : Parish Register
This earlier?
William STACEY   Burial   02 Apr 1809   Surrey   Chertsey : St Peter, abode Botleys

Susan STACEY   Burial age 74 (1743)   14 Oct 1817   Surrey   Chertsey : St Peter

NB- A William Stacy & Sarah Fray had children baptised there in the same period.
When they married at Kingston Upon Thames in 1766 they were both otp & widowed

A William Stasy, son of Thomas & Elizabeth was baptised KuponT in 1733.
William Stacey likely married Sarah Stacey first in 1755, Sarah died in 1763.
Sarah STACEYWilliam STACEY   Marriage   18 Aug 1755   Surrey   Kingston Upon Thames

Sarah STACEY   Burial age 73 (1741)   13 Oct 1814   Surrey   Chertsey : St Peter

The only other earlier Stacy records on freereg at Chertsey are two burials, Robert in 1719 and his wife in 1710.

A Wm Stacey rented property in Chertsey from Samuel Cobbett from 1780 to 1798

It might be worth looking at this William, it is the only one I cannot eliminate in the county but there are others in adjacent counties

   William Stacy
Baptism Date:   12 Nov 1741
Baptism Place:   Saint John The Baptist, Croydon, Surrey, England
Father:   Robert Stacy
Mother:   Sarah

Assuming Susannah Kimbel was born about 1743, as per the burial record, as far as I can see the only marriage in England for that name between 1760 & 1780 was the one to William Stacey.

There were a few Kemble/Kembal marriages in the following Counties, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Suffolk.

 The one in Oxfordshire!
Susanna Kimbel   Baptism   25 Jul 1745   Cropredy   Thomas  & Ann   Burial 24 Dec 1745

Colin
Clarke, Trickett, Orton, Lawless, Norton, Detheridge, Kirby, Goodfellow, Wagstaff, Lowe, etc.

Thank you so much Colin for your help, much appreciated  ;D Maybe William Stacy and Susanna Kimbel were born close to Chertsey but those parishes are not online or destroyed.

Thanks to the burial of Susanna Kimbel of Cropredy Oxfordshire I can eliminate this one too.

The name Kimbel seems rare in Surrey. I can see no other couple in Chertsey with the name Kimbel
