Here is something interesting!

Death
Sep 1955 Bournemouth 6b 114
Hersey, Philip John
age 26

Probate for Philip John Hersey, of 49 Wye-avenue Ash (should be Wyke!), an administration granted to Nellie May Hersey.
https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/Calendar?surname=hersey&yearOfDeath=1955&page=1#calendar

Now, we know that Ernest and Nellie married in 1930, their first child seems to be registered in 1932 in Hartley Wintney district

So who was Philip John? There is this possible birth
June 1929 St George Hanover Sq 1a 533
Hooper, Philip J.
mother Hooper

Would it be worth getting the certificate?

John - you manage to find such good stuff...

Philip was buried at Ash St Peter.

I think, eirwen, that rosie is trying to establish how you got to Nellie? Is it through a chain of documented events back from you or whoever you are helping research?
