I only use FamilySearch and FreeBMD until I can access the library. This evening I searched again for a marriage between Aran/Aaron Evans and Catherine John and still cannot find one using a wide spread of dates. I listed all Evans John marriages in England and Wales between 1920 and 1970 and nothing.

I have not found the Daniel and Catherine marriage, through Catherine Anne was born in Swansea 1871/73. It also says Aran/Aeron was also born in Swansea 1897/7 and I have not found his birth, nor this family on the 1891 census. I have tried FreeBMD for a birth 1893 to 1899 in a wide Swansea area and nothing.

I have also looked for a marriage between Daniel Evans and Catherine Anne, but nothing seems right on Free BMD.

I believe Catherine Anne Evans died 1916; burial Pembrey, Carmarthenshire on 13 Nov 1916, age 46. The most likely would be St Illtyd, Church of Wales and I will have a look around sometime next week. If there is a gravestone, it may have her maiden name. There is also a chapel opposite.

There's a Tilly Evans on the '1901 Census, born "Ponty dulais" with Daniel and Catherine.

Why are you looking for a marriage between Aran/Aaron Evans and Catherine John?

She became Catherine John after her marriage to Aran/Aaron Evans according to the 1939 register.

Hi Hanes Teulu, I had found the Llandilo Talybont and Tinman but could not link them. He was a Tinplate Rollerman and married to Ann with a daughter Catherine. But that Daniel Evans was also born around 1870 in Llandovery.

Tilly is Matilda in 1911.
RG14 Schedule 158 . Piece/Folio 315 . Page Number 1
GBC/1911/RG14/33027/0315/4

The Daniel Evans I am looking for, reads as Llanwrda on the 1911, but transcribed as Llandovery in 1901 or Llanneda in 1911.

1891 Census . Llanwrda, Llandovery
Daniel Evans . Single . General Servant Domestic
Age 20 . Birth Year (Estimated) 1871 . Carmarthenshire
RG12 . Piece/Folio 4502/43 . Page Number 7

Hi chempat, Confusion is setting in, I will look again when fully awake. I am looking in all directions and also the two generations, who both married Martha Jane Williams, mother and daughter, so get mixed up.

When I was checking the GRO for a Swansea birth and Pontypridd birth that fitted the 1901 Census for  Evan (clearly the name recorded on the Census sheet) and Dan, with a common mother's maiden name I identified -

Evan Daniel Evans, Dec Qtr 1895, Swansea, 11a  910- mother's maiden name Morgans (+ a note that reads "Occasional copy A")
Daniel John Evans, Dec Qtr, 1897, Pontypridd, 11a 606 - mother's maiden name Morgans

I note on the 1911 Census that the last entry reads
Daniel John Evans - the first given name has been corrected to John.

The problem is finding an appropriate GRO entry for Tilly/Matilda Evans - mother Morgans!!

The "abode" on Matilda Evan's baptismal entry is "Lliw Common". Checking Welsh newpapers on line "Lliw Common, Pontardulais" is described as the site of a gypsy encampment.

Hanes Teulu, How did you find that. It helps to speak and read Welsh, which I am lacking. This has to be the right family. I imagine all the children will be born on gypsy encampments. And Catherine was a Morgans.

I went to the church in Pembrey this morning, through the rain and with cold wet feet I gave up, but have a telephone number for the Vicar. I am sure that is where she is buried.

Then it was across to the library where I found a marriage for Matilda Evans; Oct-Dec 1917 to George Davies. Haverfordwest 11a 2348
Daniel married Martha Jane Williams (Mother) on 26 Nov 1917
Aran married Martha Jane Williams (Daughter) on 15 May 1918

On the 1939 Register I believe the same Matilda is married to George Watkins.
George Watkins . 15 Jan 1892 . Married . Insurance Agent
Matilda Watkins (Davies Evans) . 5 Feb 1899 . Married . Unpaid Domestic Duties
Joseph H Gough . 21 Feb 1915 . Single . Police Constable Gemts Foli (Gemts Foli  as transcribed and could not look at the original as download was so slow.)

So now I need to find the death of George Davies and her second marriage to George Watkins. Possibly George Davies during WW1.
Also the birth of Catherine Anne Morgans in Swansea.
