You will have a hard task even searching the Index on Scotlands people as there are a number of pages for Mary Carrol born in Scotland within your time frame.

Have you any idea at all which part of Scotland she was born in? This would narrow the search.

No, I'm afraid that's all I have. I'm hoping that Queen Charlotte's Hospital will be able to provide some more details, but that's going to take time. Because of the '100-year' rule, there are various identification 'hoops' which must be jumped through before they can release any information. I guess that will take a good couple of weeks, so I was hoping to short-circuit the process, but in the face of so many Mary CARROLLS that's obviously a lost cause, but thanks for your interest.
