Marriage Christchurch/New Forest Reg districts for William Henry Steele

As I explained in my previous post, Kinson came under Canford   until absorbed into Bournemouth in 1865.

Because parish record books cover  a number of years, one wouldn't expect them to start a new Register just because a church was absorbed into a different area. This is why Ancestry have indexed the baptism under Canford,  but the image correctly shows it took place in Kinson.

It always pays to look at the actual image, rather than rely on the England Select Births and Christenings, many of which are are incorrect.

I have requested a copy of the marriage of Harry Steel to Louisa Woodford as along with you all I believe that is probably the right marriage. I'll let you know if we're right.
I've found the newspaper articles about the death of the child so I'll read them shortly.

Hi everyone

I've now received the marriage cert for Harry Steel and Louisa Woodford and it confirms that Harry Steel is the right man. On the cert his father is Charles, a gardener, which matches the information that I have on him.
