Hi Dancing Bear,
I reckon you'll find your Ancestry sub worthwhile.
But remember (noting that you mention Scotland in your tag) that Ancestry doesn't have Scotland censuses
For those you'll need to go to another paying (pay per view) site - ScotlandsPeople at:
http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
and, at present, they are only back to 1871 in census info.

I am stuck with an ancestor from scotland. I will use the site and see what i come up with.
