Where would I find the original register, Rosie? Nottingham Archives?

Have you looked at their website to see if they hold the registers

I generally use Genuki to locate where registers are held or look at family search catalogue to see if they are available to view at a LDS family history centre.

https://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/NTT

https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/search/

Sorry I can't be more help

Good morning Notts girl, thank you. I have just rang the Archives and they say they don't hold them. St Marys start from 1567 to 19? I can't remember what they said. They said the 1530 ones were the originals but they don't hold them. I know I found her there because I have other info. I looked at marriage reg.1566-1763 and a ABS.Marriage license 1701 - 1853. (David Granger/ Phebe Ball/Hale/Bale)

It's Elizabeth Granger 12th April 1780 Notts St Marys Father William.
I found her there about 5 years ago in England & Wales Christening 1530 - 1906 but I live in Skegness now. If you can find her I'll be very grateful. It'll mean I'm not imagining it.

Hi Maggie,

Odd that they said they don't have records for St Mary's Nottingham (its Nottingham's main church) as they are on fiche and I often look at them, I'm not sure what date they start from as some of the early ones are unreadable.

I have the NFHS disc which has all of St Mary's Christenings on for 1780 and she's not on it but I'll check the fiches tomorrow for you.

Sorry, NG, I said it wrong. They do have the records but they don't have the 1530-1906 specifically. It looks like I will have to sign up to Ancestry as Findmypast don't have them but Ancestry do.

Thank you so much for taking the trouble.

"Nottinghamshire, England, Extracted Church of England Parish Records, 1538-1837."
"Christening Index, 1530-1980"  On Ancestry.

England & Wales Christening 1530 - 1906
Is  the British Isles Vital Records Index (2nd edition), as issued by the Mormon Church (LDS) on CD.
https://www.cyndislist.com/uk/wls/bmd/ if you click on the link it takes you to Ancestry 1530 to 1980, so updated.

Elizabeth Granger's baptism /Christening is not on Ancestry.co.uk, I have checked.I have also checked Family Search and nothing coming up on there.

Edited
Ok double checking I have found 4 Elizabeth Grangers from Nottingham but Ancestry keeps shipping me off to join the USA site.....dont know if this is its usual silliness  ::)

Hi Larkspur.
This is crazy!! I've signed up to Ancestry for a month and I found nothing either. I'm going to ask my cousin in USA to have a look for me. If I hadn't seen it I wouldn't have written it down...ugggh!
