When I was a child a playmate had a completely Polish name but born to a Polish father and English mother in England.

Could Regina have been born in Scotland but left at an early age and so had an English accent?

@nannyjan She might well have been. I am going to investigate the 1939 census to see if her surname shows up anywhere.

As the births with Mr Wyper have a different maiden name, have you considered that surname also?

I think a child from another marriage also has a 'mmn' from a previous married surname, so rather a mix-up.

What year was she born?

@chempat.. That's what I'm trying to work out. With her marriage in 1959, I was guess-timating around the mid-late 1930's.. but she marries first in 1948.. so I'm again guessing sometime around the late 1920's, maybe 1930.

I'm not ruling anything out at the moment.. Skrabonia, Skrabania, Skribania,even Gerlich..

Despite the probate record, I can't find a suitable death registration for that date.  was hoping the entry would give us her birthdate.

I was at primary school with Regina. She married at age 16 and my understanding was that she was born in Germany in 1943. Her mother was believed to be a widow when she married Cyril WYPER and mother’s maiden name GERLICH was recorded when their son Peter J. WYPER was registered.
I vaguely remember a male sibling[? or other relative?] of Regina came to the UK much later, which could account for the 2 SKRABANIA children born in the late ‘60s with mother’s maiden name LORD.
Ursula WYPER died in December 2007 and her ashes were interred at St Andrew's Churchyard, Chilcomb, a delightful ancient church on the S.E. outskirts of Winchester.
Could this be her German Lutheran baptism:  Ursula Maria GERLACH in Deutschland? Sadly, I don't have a worldwide Ancestry subscription.

Ursula is recorded as Ursula M A Skrabania on her marriage to Mr Wyper.

I could not see the death record for her year of birth, but  an ER gives a suggested birth year of 1921-1923.

Although it still begs the question, where does the Skrabania surname come from, if her maiden name was Gerlich/Gerlach.?
