@Nanny Jan, thank you. Yes, that's what I found, but the actual certificate is unavailable. I have no idea why or what that means.  ???

@avm228. Thank you. So she has passed. :( I'm grateful that I at least have a legal name for her even if there's no birth record for it.

Did you ask GRO why the certificate was unavailable? I've never heard of that.

@nanny jan, I did, they wrote back and said they were unable to issue the certificate. No explanation about why, just that they were unable to issue it.

I don't know if him being a minor would have any bearing on it. I didn't think it would. He was 17 when they married.

Apply for the 1948 marriage certificate for more information?

(1959 : Perhaps she forgot to divorce until after 1959 - or did you supply too much information, with a mistake in it?)

Added: Would need permission if minor?

Did you apply using the exact names as I found?  Being a minor would make no difference.

@ chempat. I'm going to do that, now that I know there was one. :) I probably did send too much information, I'm very much a too much information, rather than not enough kind of person.  :-[

@nanny jan, I gave them the name I had, Regina U. I. Skrabonia. It might be worth trying again with Regina U. Wyper, and see if that gets results. :)

You have to give the exact spellings as shown on their index.

Audrey JC Crumpler and Regina U Skrabania.

It’s possible she was e.g. German rather than Polish.  Did she appear to have English as a first language or second language when you knew her?
