KEYSER of Ipswich

I am trying to trace Helena Keyser, she was a 'Companion' to a wealthy lady in the late 1800's in the New Forest, I think she died around the 1920's 1930's, the funeral service was held in a church in Lyndhurst, Hampshire, but she was buried in Ipswich, I cannot find any info on her or family connections, can anyone help me.

All I can tell you is she was a companion to Mabel Walker-Munro who lived at Rhinefield House in the New Forest, there was a rumour that Helena paid for the redecoration of a church in Lyndhurst Hampshire, Mabel died in 1934  and her husband in 1920 so Helena would have been a companion sometime between these dates also thjat she was buried in Ipswich.

Found this in deaths registrations:

Nellie M. Keyzer     aged 73    d.  1933 New Forest, Hampshire (covered Lyndhurst).

Did she maybe make her name sound posher than it really was if she was a 'companion'.

There is no family of this name in Ipswich at any time (few in the whole country) - in fact, there is just one birth - Ernest Harold G. Kayser b.Mar.qtr.1897 Ipswich.   In 1901 he is shown as 'adopted' and living with an Aldous family.   However, in 1911 he is no longer with them and I cannot locate him.     He married in Ipswich in 1923 to a Dorothy A. Todd - a son was born the following year in Ipswich and then a daughter in Daventry  in 1926 so looks like they left Ipswich c.1925.   He died 1968 Coventry, Warwickshire and his wife the same year in Nuneanton, Warks.

The name Keyser and umpteen variants seems to have originated in Sweden as far as I can tell.   Trying to find on the census is a nightmare.  I can find no birth for a Nellie (or Ellen/Helen/Helena) M. Keyser (or variants thereof) bc.1860 in England - is it possible Helena Keyser was a widow?

There were a number of births in the Mutford reg. district of Suffolk one of which was Ellen Mabel Keyzor b.1873 but can find no further trace of her in B/M/D records nor the census.

Since the link was specifically to Ipswich was the Ernest born 1897 possibly her child I wonder?   If not, then I can only assume that she was indeed a widow and it was her birth family that came from Ipswich.

A few things for you to think about - there really is no family of this surname in Ipswich I'm afraid.
