Hi All, I do not know if this is the right board.
I am trying to find the admission records of a BRIDGET DUFFY, (born Ireland  a domestic servant address on her sons
 birth cert is 580 Gallowgate Street Glasgow .  She had a illegitimate son John Thomson  2 Sept 1868 11 hrs 00 Min's  In Barnhills Poorhouse Springburn .I do not live in Scotland so any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like she was not in the Poorhouse but in the hospital section as she was residing at 580 Gallowgate Street

Hi,
 It does state on John Thomson's  birth cert  2 Sept 1868 from Scotlands People   being born in the poorhouse as does the entry above him
 Bridget Duffy  was a Domestic at 580 Gallowgate Street. Cannot find her in the 1871 census.
Why would she call him Thomson when her name was Duffy??
Is there anywhere I could view the admissions for Barnhill.

Morning,
 on his birth it states he is illegitimate, Mother Bridget Thomson. I cannot find anything for George Thomson and Bridget

  on his marriage cert to Charlotte Campbell  19 Aug 1891 it states his father as George Thomson , Occ Weaver (deceased) and Bridget Cairns (previously Thomson) WS Duff

Poorhouse records are only accessible in Mitchell Library

If she stated her name as Bridget Thomson on his birth record, why do you think she was Bridget Duffy?

Have you found John on 1871, 1881 and 1891 census records?

There are so many John Thomson's born  around 1868 as is the same with Bridget. I have been looking for months now, keep going back and researching all the census and cannot tie anything together.
When she married
Patrick Cairns (1839–1917)
16 Sep 1867 • St John's Catholic Chapel, Portugal Street, Hutchesontown, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland she was Bridget Duffy.
She had John Thomson in 1868 ??? I am so confused.
