Ethel Mary Twigg

I am trying to tidy up loose ends on my Family Tree, and one name is giving me a few headaches. It is Ethel Mary Twigg born 1904 daughter of Arthur William Twigg and Emma nee Piggott. I hhave found her birth registration and also her on the 1911 Census but after that nothing. I have asked some of the other descendants of Arthur and Emma about her, and have been told she married a Sidney Hayes, no idea where or when or what happened to her. I cannot find any record of the marriage or where she may have been. Can anyone help Arthur was a Police Sergeant in Shrewsbury in Shropshire. Do you have her birthcert?  Sometimes a December birth is registered after Christmas so registered in the March qtr - she may possibly have been born 1903

There is a marriage of an Ethel M Twigg to Joseph Hayes, Mar qtr 1930 Kensington - have you ruled that one out?

Thank you so much for that, I didn't look there, thinking she must be living away from the family. That does put a different slant on things. Will have to let the families know he was actually Joseph. I can't thank you enough for that.

She should still be alive in 1939 by the looks of it (unless Joseph remarried).

This one is Ethel May rather than Ethel Mary.

The annual electoral registers for 1936-1939 show Joseph and Ethel Mary Hayes at 86c Lillie Rd, Fulham.

Thye can be traced in Fulham until 1957, by which time they were living at 51 Burnfoot Avenue, SW6.

Ethel’s birthdate appears to have been 16 February 1904.

She may be the Ethel Mary Hayes who died aged 53, Jun qtr 1957 Hammersmith.
