Charles Hogg Stewart
« on: Sunday 28 April 19 17:47 BST (UK) »
I am researching Charles Hogg Stewart born 1898 Dunoon, Scotland

Married Melanie Marie Roberts 1922 Fulham, London. She was born 1899 Kensington, London.

Charles died 1944 Fulham.

Melanie married Leonard A Girouard 1945 Fulham. She died 1963 Ealing, London

Charles would have been my granduncle. He was my grandmother's brother, (Rose Harriet King Stewart 1896 - 1974)

Posted in this forum because the family left Scotland at an early age and moved to London.

Keith

Hatch - Hartpury, Gloucestershire. Christchurch, Hampshire (Dorset)

Just found that record an hour ago. Thanks.

I have details of the other brothers and sisters but Charles is a bit of a mystery.

The real story is how does his father, a coachman in Scotland end up selling prestige cars in London. He got there via Bristol where he was a chauffeur.

My research is concentrating on Charles, what is his story?

What happened to him after the war and after he got married. The period between 1920 and 1944.

what is his story?
period between 1920 and 1944

A couple of possible escapades
West Sussex County Times, 23 October 1936, Charles Hogg Stewart, summoned for careless driving
Fulham Chronicle, 1 October 1943, Charles Hogg Stewart (47), lorry driver, looks like it might be drink related
