George Chapman 1833
« on: Monday 15 August 05 15:08 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am trying to trace my husband's family but I can get no further back than George Chapman and Jane Ann Midgley... I believe George's mother was called Hannah Senior and his father was called George also,  but I am not certain of this.  I would be most grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction.  Here are the details I have so far.

GEORGE CHAPMAN was born May 1833 in Chapel Allerton York, and died 1889.  He married JANE ANN MIDGLEY 1858 in St Peter, Leeds.  She was born 1828 in York, and died 1882.

Notes for GEORGE CHAPMAN:

    Birth Year 1833
    Birthplace York, England
    Age 48  in 1881 Census
    Occupation Labourer Quarry Stone

Thank you

Wendy

Don't know if this is any use but the IGI has an extracted Christening:

GEORGE CHAPMAN

Parents:
  Mother:  HANNAH CHAPMAN

Hi,

IGI is short for International Genealogical Index and you can do a search on www.familysearch.org

Perhaps you could ask for a 1841/1851 census look-up to see if these 2 can be found together.
