I was hoping he would show up in Crimean war records. So no show. He was stationed in Ireland in Dublin; that is where his son was baptised in 1852. He has just disappeared.
Checking the newspaper reports the 11th Hussars sailed for the Crimea July/Aug 1854 from Ireland. By Nov 1854 reports appearing of casualties (killed/wounded/missing/prisoner) under rank/name. He doesn't appear in the list published 30 November.
Do you have access to newspapers. I cannot find him using the search facility so am checking the papers month by month - but it's a slow process.
No..don't have access to newspapers...but just wondering which ones in particular? English/Irish ones? Let me know and I will try and will continue to look.
Should add that a depot company continued at Newbridge, Ireland so no guarantee he was in the Crimea.
