How many '4th cousins or closer' matches have you got?

Jillruss, If you enable the beta test for improved matching then you will see the count of total matches, 4th cousins, new matches and any group filters that you set.

I can't see how to do this. I'm still getting the same old screen - and no indication as to how to go onto the beta screen. (Mind you, I'm notorious for not seeing what's in front of my nose end!)

Click on Ancestry lab

Scroll to New and Improved

Click Enable

I persuaded my husband around Christmas time - he thought he would have few matches 
He has 577 - 4th or closer

Go on! Rub it in.... getting on for 3 times the number I have! I apparently have 29,770 matches in total, so my numbers are down there as well. I shall have to launch a recruitment campaign!! 

Thanks for the 'how to', Gadget - I thought I'd got even that wrong but found I had to log out and log back in again to get the Beta to work. I shall now have a play!!

I started about a year ago with 109 4th or closer, it's 224 as of today. I though there would be a few after Christmas but it's just a slow trickle.

Has the Beta version 'lost' that part of a match's profile which (if they have filled it in) tells you where they live, how old they are etc? I use that a lot, when available, to try and locate possible 'candidates' when other info (like a tree) is not provided.

I don't know when it was introduced, Gadget (you expect too much of me!) but its the one that's there now. I don't see that the profile page now gives any personal info on the match - like age, residence etc. Other than that, I certainly like the look of the new lay out, so many thanks for pointing me at it. Kudos to Ancestry as well for continuing to make efforts to improve our 'experience'.
