Was there anything about my great grandmother Matilda in it too?

It says that she is married to Ludwig Engdahl in Helsingborg.

I have tried to find Alfred Palsson in America without much luck.

Alfred Pålsson died in Ausås, Sweden on 4 March 1946 and was married on 20 Dec 1902.

Only Adde born 14 Jun 1873 matches the information I've already found.

What info do you have on him?

I think the problem is you are basing everything on Christina's marriage to Perry Johnson and looking for children, last name "Johnson"

It appears Christina got remarried (had a couple children w/ Perry Johnson) to a Benjamin Ekdahl who also had been previously married with a couple of kids. Benjamin & Christina had four children together. Benjamin died in 1889

This would be Christina with children named in probate in the 1880 census.

1880 census: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MXNQ-DDZ

===========

Benjamin's page a Find A Grave explains a lot of what happened, as well as linking several of the children listed in the mentioned probate record.

There is also a tree at Family Search

There's a one line snippet in the paper about guardianship of the children.

Sterling Standard
Sterling, Illinois
Thursday, March 20, 1890 - Page 3

"In re guardianship of the minor heirs of Benj. Ekdahl,
 Guardian's inventory filed and approved"

===========

After Benjamin died, it appears the probate records were handled in Whiteside County.

Guardianship record 1872-1897 vol B: page 309 - http://www.rootschat.com/links/01opk/

It appears Benjamin's oldest daughter (from 1st marriage) Anna(Ekdahl) Aldrich was given Guardianship of the minor children.

Hi Ian, Updating the search for Christina, I have finally discovered that the last four children were fathered by Benjamin Ekdahl in the Tampico area of Illinois. I did this by looking for on eof the sons using his first name and exact date of birth and eventually found them all in the 1880 census. Thank you again for your invaluable help. Linda :)
PS. Thanks also for your information RJ137 which unfortunately I was not aware of until now. I stumbled on the 1880 census by the above method.
