Crinston [Crimstone eg] family from Hart, Durham
« on: Monday 01 April 19 05:14 BST (UK) »
I am looking to find any info on the Crinston families [plus various spellings] from Hart in Durham.
I have John Crimston married to Hannah Dodds 26/10/1766 Hart. St Mary Magdaline.
 I have the baptisms of 4 children > John 1769, Elizabeth1770, William 1772 and Arthur 1776.
I am missing Hannah bapt before 1769.
I have searched the Bishops transcripts but they start at 1769  she was between 1766 -69.
Hannah married William Prince 8/4/1788 Hart St Mary Magdaline.
I have found 1 son born to them, baptised at Brompton by Northallerton Yorkshire 1787.
 Many thanks  :D

This may be a red herring, but could be worth checking out just in case it could be her. Durhamrecordsonline have a Hannah Ridley/Crimston baptised in 1765, no location specified on the index.

Looks like a good possibility.

I think so. My John is from North Hart, I cant find any other likely John Crimstons. I wll have to track Jane Ridley now as she would be my direct ancestor not Hannah Dodds :o
I think she got around. Just found this baptism> Nov 14 1762 Martha and Ann, twins of Jane Ridley, who she fathered on Alexander Chisholm :o

Good luck. Always interesting when you suddenly find a new/alternate branch that you may need to be climbing.  :)
