Hi skitty,

And welcome to RootsChat.   ;D

I was going to move this message to Cavan,  as you are most likely to get help from people who know the area there,  and therefore any relatives who may still be in the area,  but I see you have already posted in Cavan.

Another avenue to try is to try to find him in a historical directory as you know his trade:

http://www.historicaldirectories.org/

It is quite comprehensive,  I have checked,  they have directories covering Manchester.

Good Luck

Kazza.

Hi there   have now been to Bawnboy and met some wonderful people who helped me find my Great grandfather Patrick.s homestead - he was a farrier farmer and also publican - owned Eaglehill bar in townland of Gowlagh south - have still many questions unanswered as to who his parents were - possibly a John Devine connected with Tea possibly from Strabane - not too sure about this - also would like mnore info on the McKiernan side - Patrick's wife was Roseanne - i think she was born in Leitrim   - all help gratefully received - and thanks to Kazza and Skippy who replied to my message earlier :D
