I’ve hit a brick wall and hope someone out there can help me. I can only find one birth between a William Henry Hermitage and a Margaret Wendy Bennetto but I’m told they had several children. Anyone any ideas?

Did you use scotland's people to search for births?

No only because I’ve no idea if they were born in Scotland. I’ve received a photo today of them with 5 young children in the photo. No idea what year it was taken though.

well, if you've eliminated England and wales, and you think they may have gone to Scotland, it would seem obvious to look there next.
Godo luck with your search

The problem is though I can’t find them anywhere I’ve been doing a general search covering all areas and nothing is coming up.

Check the coverage offered.
It looks like births in the last 100 years cannot be accessed via the internet.
https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/guides/statutory-registers
But If I searched for Hermitage, 1945 to 1960, I got
Statutory registers
