It was a nice day for traipsing! I’ve been to the local council office who say they don’t have burial records. They did say I could try the landscaping or something dept as there may be some records there. It was interesting that she did say that sometimes people write books on cemeteries and perhaps I might find it in there.

What's the name of her husband, and do you know when he died?

I had a look at a newspaper site for which I don't currently have a subscription and it shows John Knox Norrie, mason, was buried 21-11-1953. He seems to be Martha's husband. I am not completely certain, because I can't see the full newspaper page (Aberdeen Evening Express 19-11-1953), but it could be that he was buried at Turlundie cemetery near New Pitsligo. If someone with full access to a newspaper site could check, it would confirm it. In that case, Martha is likely to be buried there too.

Thank you so much. I couldn’t check his death records as there are many John Norries but with the middle name that made it easy. His death certificate acknowledges Martha as his second wife and the address on the death cert has been confirmed by an electoral roll to confirm they did live there. Perhaps a jaunt to New Pitsligo is on the cards 😂😂. Again, many thanks for your help.
