Customs excise staff service registers

I understand that a lot of records have been digitalised on the SOG website but they are officers born after 1833, any idea where I need to look for someone born before that?  I'm going round in circles for my sins.

First, you need to determine whether your man was in Customs or Excise. At these early dates they were two different services.
