Hi, I thought I would add a bit more information.
I visited Burntisland a few years ago from Australia. I know a similar visit was made a few years later by a Morison descendant from New Zealand. In the Burntisland churchyard is an imposing monument to George Morison (1761-1847), a ship's master, his wife Margaret Lessly (1761-1847?)and family. We also found a modest stone which was lying on the ground for their son Alexander Morison and wife Helen Garnoch.
Further information Burntisland deeds 1731-1896:
"GARNOCK, JAMES: shipmaster in Burntisland; Disp in favour of spouse, Mgt Morison, in life-rent (also life-rent to his unmarried daughters, Janet and Betsy, while they remain unmarried), and to children: sd Janet and Betsy; Helen (w of Alexander Morison, Officer of Excise); Ann (widow of James Muirhead, residing Dunbar); Mgt (widow of Andrew Wilson); and Charlotte (w of John McBride, sailor in Burntisland); 7 March 1844 [B9/8/1 folio 142-47]"
And from the Kirkcaldy Deeds:
"MORRISON, DOUGLAS: merchant in Kirkcaldy; Trust Disp & Settlement for relations, including George Morrison, shipowner in Burntisland; Mgt Morrison, spouse of James Garnock, also shipowner there;; and Mgt Morrison, residing Burntisland, widow of John Mills, late merchant in Aberdour; 5 May 1824 [B41/8/1 fol 152-55]"

George Morison was the father of Alexander Morison of Burntisland. George Morison was a ship's master and there is an imposing gravestone still standing in the churchyard there with all the family details.
