Many thanks to Greerjv for tying up another of my loose ends. She solved the problem of my missing Great Uncle.From the other side of the world she told me my Great Uncle George was her Grandfather. The world really is getting smaller.

Would love to speak to you further about this.  My great grandfather was James Docherty Brownlie.  He married my great grandmother Janet Rintoul in 1915 and had at least one child, my grandmother Annie Brownlie in 1915.  Unfortunately Janet Rintoul died in 1920 and my grandmother was not raised by her father so I am looking for more information about possible half siblings.  Her father James remarried Helen Reid in 1921 so I would love any information that you may have come across with respect to children they may have had together.  On Helen's death certificate it was signed by her son Thomas Brownlie so there is at least one sibling my grandma had.  Just wondering if it was a half sibling or a full sibling and what other family she may have not know about. 

You did mention that my great grandfather died in a workhouse/asylum.  I was wondering where this information was gather from so that I may look at it as well.  I do have a copy of his death certificate but did not notice anything outside of his cause of death.

I did send you a message so hopefully we can touch base and dig into this further together!

How strange when another little piece of the puzzle comes together. This late lady was my Great Aunt and I know from Greerjv that she visited her brother, George, in Australia. She had been widowed during WW1 and remarried later, so it's back to my little bits of paper

George Cassels, who died at Port Pirie Hospital, South Australia, 10th April 1930, as reported by Scotmum, was buried in the Port Pirie Cemetery. He was aged 42 years. Now I’m going looking for a gravestone. I’m not in Port Pirie but think there may be a site to help. My mother, who told me of his wife, Jean’s visit never mentioned him. Strange.
