Godfrey Hall, West Heath, Birmingham.
« on: Sunday 03 February 19 05:16 GMT (UK) »
Trying to find why/when Godfrey Hall, born 1909 Chorlton, Manchester died 1970 West Heath, Birmingham would have changed his name from Hall to Lawton. On his will it states "Godfrey Hall otherwise Godfrey Lawton" His parents were Elizabeth Ann Hall (nee Pownall) and George Hall.

For 1970 he left quite a bit of money.  What was his profession?  Could the Lawton name be something to do with that?

In 1959 when he comes back to the UK from South Africa he has a different wife, Evelyn b 1918
The 1929 marriage was to Lilian Spencer,
I’m wondering if Evelyn has a Lawton connection?

Family are all HALL on the passenger list

Hmm, is she the Gardiner marriage Gloucester 1944?

The son, born 1945, has L as a middle initial.  Might this be Lawton?
