Indeed it wasn't easy because of the different spellings of the surname , even in France.
As you can see on the documents Leon signs CHEVROT but the public officer writes CHEVREAUX (absolutely same sounding though) .And the forename is written either George or Georges (most often it is Georges in France).
If Valeriet comes back I can go further searching the ancestors.
Now I am searching Georges's military file. Not an easy search because you find this in the "recruitement bureau" where a boy lived when he was 20.And I don't know where he was living in 1890, and moreover , the military files aren't on line in all the departements)
If he was still in France I guess he was living in one of the departements around Orne or Eure , or Paris .
