Here is the list of the villages and towns where the name Chevreau was found from 1891 to 1915, on Filae . You can't have the same list before 1891. We can  try to search the Tables Decennales around 1870 (when George Chevreau was born).

Ah it says they had been married for 18 years on the 1911 census.

No problem finding records for the other Chevreau's even the mis-spelt ones but just not the pair who were supposely from France. I'm wondering where else I can go with this. Maybe I need to work out how they might have travelled from France to England.

I  searched the first 10, without success. Will go on little by little.
It is not impossible that he was born Chevereau, I also look for this name.

The children of the couple Chevreau (Cherean, Cheverean)/Dupuy (Dupny) were : George Marcel 1896,Yvonne 1899,Robert Leon 1901,René Gustave 1903,Margueritte P 1906, Georgette M 1908.
I think that George Gustave remarried quarter Sept 1919 with SCHOOF, FreeBMD gives  CHEVROT George Gustave .
Then they had Henriette G 1916, Gustave R 1919 and Juliette 1919 same quarter , must have been twins, all with surname CHEVREAU.

I have found the marriage of a George G Chevrot to Hendrika T Schoof Lambeth RD 3rd quarter 1919.
If you got this certificate it should give George's father's name & occupation.

Have you found any of th efamily on 1939 to give exact dates of birth?

Valeriet , I think Josey gives a good advice .
We arent' able to find the marriage Chevreau Dupuy, but you could learn interesting infos with the certificate of the 2nd marriage.
if you decide to order it , do so before 16 th feb , the cost will be higher after this date.
Searching 1939 is also a good idea.
Don't you have any idea about his date of death , I cannot find any thing by any means.

ADDED : I searched 10 more villages in France , no finding yet.

The price of certificates at https://www.gro.gov.uk will go up from £9.25 to £11 on 16 Feb, so it would be a good idea to get it before then.

ADDED: Probably totally unrelated but a George Chevrot age 69, French, priest, last address in UK Rutland Gardens Hotel, London - went to NY on the Queen Mary in Feb 1946, intending to live in Canada.
