Dis 392. On British Army WW1 Medal Rolls Index Card.

Hi. Can anyone tell me the reason for my great uncles discharge from the 23rd Battalion Royal Fusiliers in January 1918 after having served with them since they were first posted to France in November 1915. Dis 392 is all that is written on the card, no code to say under which section of the Kings Regulations. No Service Record exists for him. He was Private Samuel George Hurst, Sports 791 of the 23rd Battalion Royal Fusiliers. Imagine attached.

Yes. I have looked at the regulations list. Just hoping someone has come across it before.

He was discharged 1 Jan 1918 "not physically fit for war service" sub paragraph xvi - he has a Silver war Badge record on FindMyPast and Ancestry) - also shows he enlisted on 10 Oct 1914.

Hello MaxD. Thank you once again for your help. I only belong to Ancestry.co.uk and I cannot find mention of the silver war badge or the date he enlisted. Are they on find my past?

Not wanting to be picky but it was a badge not a medal. Worn on civvy clothes.
It does say on his MIC that he had the SWB.
