No, I can't find her in 1841 census either as a Bell or Esson.

There is a death of a Harriet Esson in the 2nd q. of 1841, Sunderland 24, 183. Age at death 43.

Her burial is on Durham Records Online and her residence in the index is given as Hedworth Street, Bishopwearmouth.

There is a 52-year-old Andrew Esson in Bishopwearmouth in 1841, he is the only person in the household, and he is living at Hedworth Street Bishopwearmouth.

So it looks like Harriet died shortly before the census was taken.

Just for the record, the marriage can be found on the Durham Bishops Transcripts, via Family Search.
