Thomas Lounds
« on: Sunday 06 January 19 19:40 GMT (UK) »
I have seen several trees for Thomas Lounds b 1718 in Mancetter, Warwickshire. On a few he is attached to my 5 x great grandfather William b c 1766 (no idea if he was born in Mancetter) Any help on this would be much appreciated thank you M x

Hiya M, good to see you on Rootschat again, hope you are well  :)

(For anyone reading this thread, William is my 5 x great grandfather too)

The trees claiming Thomas to be William's father have no sources attached - apart from other Ancestry trees  ::)

I have searched and cannot find who William's father was.  William's marriage to Sarah Innocent in 1798 is a transcription only with no mention of his father.  I have the original image of the banns which doesn't show father's names.  I'm sure you have all of this already.

But you never know, maybe a clever Rootschatter can help.

Ello Jool  happy new year. I am ok thanks. Yes we have both got on about the same. It's quite frustrating when people add random things. Hope someone is able to help too I can't get over to Warwickshire (still in Essex) often and have little time to find anything. Feel like I have done all I can on internet M x

Ello Astwood thank you for your prompt reply. This does seems to be the baptism that people are attaching to William however it is difficult to know whether or not it fits. I found other baptism for children to Thomas and Elizabeth but still not entirely sure on this one thanks again M x

Was about to post about this guy and realised there is already an old post so forgive me for resurrecting it. I am now convinced (99.7%) that Thomas is indeed the father though I still have no hard facts just geography, naming patterns etc. I have located other children and found out that Thomas was (supposedly) born in Dudderston - just outside Aston and at the time I'm pretty sure there was controversy as they were trying to incorporate the manor of Aston into Birmingham borough rather than leaving it in Warwickshire. Dudderston is around 18.5 miles from Mancetter so in the scheme of things not too far out the way. Not when we know that a couple of generations later they end up in Willenhall/Wolverhampton etc. Anyway I'm still stuck on Thomas and would love some way of linking him officially. Thanks for any help in advance M
