Anthony I have just spotted your kind offer to search Dalbeth Cemetery for burial plots on behalf of people who are not able to make the journey. I live in the west of Ireland and I am doing some research on my ancestor who emigrated to Glasgow in the late 19th Century. I have located his grave in Dalbeth Cemetery as being the late John Mulheron, died on the 5th May 1940. His Lair is 985 Section 16 Division W. It would be fantastic if you could check this out to see is there a headstone. Thank you very much for this offer,

Rgds

Hi folks,

Is there anyway to find a grave without having the lair or plot number, just the name Agnes Campbell, Nee Quinn born 1914 died 1995

Thanks.

Contact details below:

St. Peter's Dalbeth Roman Catholic Cemetery, unlike St. Kentigern's Cemetery, is still the responsibility of the Archdiocese of Glasgow.  For burial records after 1955 and for information on earlier lair registers, you should contact Sharon Scullion at Archdiocese of Glasgow, 196 Clyde Street, Glasgow G1 4JY Phone: 0141 226 5898.

www.glasgowfamilyhistory.org.uk/ExploreRecords/Pages/Burial-Lair-and-Cremation-Registers.aspx

You have good details for Agnes. Hopefully Sharon Scullion will be able to assist further  :)

Hello, was wondering if anyone lived near St Peter's Dalbeth cemetery that would be so kind to see if there is a headstone for a grave where my Dad's baby brother is buried.
It's section 17, 11650 & lair 1296.
Thomas Ridge died only 9 months old in 1944. He was laid to rest with his grandparents as follows
Patrick Burns  d1935
Bridget Burns d1944
John McCracken d1933
Bridget Mccracken d1943
I don't live in Scotland and last time I went to a funeral there, I didn't know where that section was but I did try in the rain with my Dad to search. for it. If anyone can help, I would be most grateful. Thanks Carolynn

Ridge/Carolynn I visited Dalbeth Cemetery today and duly tried to locate your headstone/grave for you took some pictures unfortunately I inadvertently deleted all but one picture sorry, I was at my relatives gravesite in the same section as your request and wandered over to what i believed to hold your lair 1296 it was difficult not many headstones standing had location numbers the first one i found was 1251 (only picture i didnt delete) and then 1310 a very big gap to work from I think i found your headstone but the facing is gone (it is an older type stone with an attached facing) if it is not your headstone then there is none standing sorry would need a wee bit more time to pace out, as the ground is not very level I will be back there soon and will upload more pictures for you unless someone else visits before me but to give you an idea of what I think is your site i have put a cross on the map and the only picture i did not delete. Thank you so much  "garngad" for taking the time and trouble to search for the grave and take photos. I really appreciate that. The last burial in that plot was in the 1940's so I don't know what state the grave is in. When I come some day with my Dad to his parent's grave in section 20, we'll know where to look now thanks to you. Best wishes. Carolynn x   :)
