Brilliant. :D Thank you Cuffie so much. So much stuff; especially if John is the father I shall order a copy of his will.
I am going to order a copy of the wedding cert as John P suggested as this will definitively give me Williams father and his occ.
Cheers to Keyboard for all the support.

Richard :)

Hi again, think I have located a death in 1823, and possible birth 1824  of a William Mumford.

Death William Mumford Burial 23rd October 1823 City of London St Matthew, Friday Street in the Parish Vault aged 7 years and 5 months, address 2, Goldsmith Street, St Peter's Cheapside ( Same address as the baptisms of James/Ann Maria/Henry)

Now for a baptism that needs checking out:-

Hi the Ann Maria Dowson was actually Ann Maria Howson, Ann Maria Mumford married Edmund Howson 20th August 1846 St Stephen, Coleman Street, the two Dowson ( Howson) children Ann & Mary were hers and Ann Maria Howson died aged 29 in 1850, at child birth possibly.

John Mumford & co. is listed as living / working at 2 Goldsmith street, Wood street in an 1818 commercial guide.
The Christiana Philpott is interesting as on Familysearch there two Christinanas', both christened in Hungtondon with John and Sarah as parents in 1791 and 1795. First child's death ?

A Christiana Philpott is married to both John and William Mumford senior  :o

William as father to William Mumford is unexpected but his birth year matches his census replies as being 1824. He could have been born in London and taken to Huntingdon to be baptised esp if his mother is from there.
I hope the wedding cert for William jnr arrives soon ! and we can definitely find his father

Again thank you both for your help and guidance to date
