I don’t want to confuse matters  with all these Patricks

Patrick born in the Workhouse 18th March 1885 - probably the Message Boy in 1901.

Patrick Padden in the Navy 18th March 1886 b Belmullet Occupation, Cloth Bleacher.

Are these two, above, the same person? I would think that quite likely.

Our man is born 1891, Devlane.

If there is no information re the Connaught Ranger, he could be any age and from anywhere.

I got confused - we have the soldier’s will.

CWGC site does have Belmullet as residence for Patrick, the Connaught Ranger, of course.
Perhaps the sailor enlisted in the army later.

"Patrick Padden was born 21 Feb 1891 in Devlane, Clogher, Mayo one of 14 children born to Thomas and Mary Padden. He is recorded as the informant on death certs for both his parents."

No dates posted for when parents died!  No Links to them!

If the parents died after the other one that  died 28/04/1915 then the one that  died 28/04/1915 is a different one!!

I think I may have found the mother’s death and her family (just for my own curiosity) but really these are not pertinent to this query.

Presumably, we can say that there has been an error and that Salt’s Patrick lived on and Hallmark has identified the grave.

Thanks muchly for your interesting replies. They convince me that I am right to reject Private Padden (d 1915). I have a birth to death line for the first Patrick, whilst the second Patrick has no dob or parents named. I think this is a perfect example of people making wrong assumptions, merging family information and posting erroneous information which gets copied and replicated.

Sorry, just picked up the last few replies. First Patrick's parents died in 1932 & 1934, I have copies of death certs. Belmullet was the registration town, the family lived in the far south of the Belmullet Peninsula. I'm not inclined to provide my credit card details in order to contact the poster of the Geni information. Thanks, Salt
