Ada Louisa Skinner completely missing after her marriage in 1892

I can't see a divorce for them on ancestry's England & Wales, Civil Divorce Records, 1858-1916.
At that time it is much more likely that they both just went their own ways as most in their position couldn't afford the cost of divorcing. So quite likely that Vincent and Ada never married or of they did it would be in the US where nobody knew them.

I see on the 1911 census Francesco says he is married but Sarah is down as single and is the  housekeeper so he is not pretending  to be married to Sarah.

He isn't shown as being married to M/S Lanham, think she is shown as housekeeper on census, I did find one child registered as Bancone, didn't check the rest as that was good enough for me

Divorce records are held at Kew archives


Perhaps  Ada and her new husband chose not to divulge she was already married, or she didn't tell him, the fact that Mr Bancone didn't appear to marry M/S Lanhan might prove  he thought he  was still married

A Vincent Joseph Pent, a widower, married Elizabeth McCoy in New York in 1922- mother named as Rosa Bencone (coincidence?).Yob given as 1889

Looking at 1930 (note he has a daughter called Viola) and 1940  census I wonder if all these records are for the same person and he was being creative age wise.

This is becoming more and more curious. It had crossed my mind that Francesco, Ada Louisa and Sarah Sophia were not necessarily being honest about their various marital statuses AND years of birth do also seem to vary.  Perhaps this was something that was commonly done when one ran off to the USA!!!

The coincidence of the mother being Rosa Bencone is just about to blow my mind.  I have a Rosa Bancone on my list of possible links to Francesco!  Going to try to correlate dates.....

But by 1939 Sarah Lanham is calling herself Sarah Bancone, although no sign of a marriage. Francesco dies in 1935, and Pippino Lanham as in the 1911 census is Pippino Bancone by 1939.
