Just trying to think, but the only "Bombay" Sharp that comes to mind is George, for that era.
It is indexed by Archives as "H Sharp" but I don't remember comming across an H Sharp when I had a look into the Bombay settlers. Have notes some where, but just a case of relocating them. Or digging on line again.
Think they may be on an old floppy disk, which I no longer have a reader for that operates. My old XP gave up after 15 years.
I believe I sometimes sit at a cattle auction, at Wellsford, alongside a Mr Sharp who's family descend from the Sharp's of Bombay, so will take a copy along when next up 200 km from home.

PS. Just had a look at electoral rolls and the only David Sharp I can find is in our South Island, over the period 1850's to 1880. Another mystery to solve.
